NICFD 2026
6th International Seminar on Non-Ideal Compressible Fluid Dynamics
We are pleased to invite you to the sixth edition of the Conference on Non-Ideal Fluid Dynamics, which will be held from 23 to 25 September 2026 in the beautiful city of Lecce, Italy.
A scientific school will precede the event, taking place from 21 to 23 September 2026, and will be especially valuable for students and early-career researchers. The course will cover the fundamentals, numerical and experimental tools, and applications of non-ideal compressible flows. Renowned experts in the field will give classes.
The conference will bring together the international research community studying the fluid dynamics of compressible reactive and non-reactive flows involving non-ideal fluids. Topics will span theory, numerical methods, and practical applications across multiple fields.
Main Topics Include:
- Fundamentals
- Numerical methods
- Optimisation and uncertainty quantification (UQ)
- Critical and supercritical flows
- Turbulence and mixing
- Multi-component fluid flows
- Applications in:
- Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power systems
- Supercritical CO₂ systems
- Steam turbines
- Cryogenic flows
- Condensing flows in nozzles
- Cavitating flows
- Space propulsion involving super- and transcritical fluids
