Otranto is at about 45 Km from Lecce, the capital of the province, in Apulia, South Italy, and at 90 km from the closest airport, Brindisi.
Airports
The Brindisi airport (““Brindisi Papola Casale International Airport”, code BDS) is very well connected with Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino airports) and Milan (Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo airports). Hence a good way to come could be to fly through Milan or Rome.
Other domestic connections to BDS are from Bologna, Pisa, Turin, and Venice, whereas main international connections are with Barcelona, Basel, Brussel, Dusseldorf, Eindhoven, Geneva, London, Munich, Paris, and Zurich. The full schedule of flights arriving to Brindisi can be found at this link (after clicking on the link, you will need to select "Brindisi" in the menu). Flights schedule may change upon airline decision. Please contact your airline or travel agency for updated details and for fixing air travel logistics.
A bigger airport is in Bari Palese (“Karol Wojtyla” Airport, code BRI). You may have a more convenient connection from your home to the Bari airport. However, please consider that Bari is at about 200 km from Otranto and that you will need additional local transportation.
Please check again this Section at a later stage for updated information on how to reach Otranto once you are at the Brindisi airport.
If you prefer to reach Otranto by yourself, please have a look to the following information. You will need to reach Lecce at first, and then move from Lecce to Otranto. Of course, taxi from the Brindisi Airport is also available.
