Dear participants,

Some indications of the next steps concerning the conference (27^th-29^th May 2021).

The Conference will be held online on Microsoft Teams.

Registration to the conference will re-open on March 20^th, 2021 and close on April 30^th 2021.

The organizing committee has reduced the participation fee to €30 in order to cover the administrative costs and the publication costs for the book of abstracts. Before the Covid emergency broke out and our conference was suspended, some participants had already paid the registration fee: the University of Salento will start the refund procedure.

As for the collection of abstracts, we are preparing an open access volume with ISBN in the Placetelling series published by Unisalento University Publishing:

To this end, we will ask participants to send us, by 20th April 2021, a long version of their abstracts, with a maximum length of 2 pages. Please find the format and the editorial norms on the menu on the right.

Dear participants,

During this period, we have been evaluating different options regarding the way the IGU thematic conference will be held.

The protracted nature of the pandemic situation does not allow us, at present, to safely plan an event of such importance and size.

At the same time, we believe that the Thematic Conference represents a great opportunity for geographers and scholars from all over the world to exchange views on a topic that appears crucial to the scientific debate.

For these reasons, the Thematic Conference will be held in telematic mode on 27th-28th May 2021. After the winter break, platforms used and other details will be communicated.
