Dear participants in the 18th IWGP,

Thank you for coming so numerous to the Lecce Meeting and having shared those beautiful days with us and communicating a wealth of interesting results from all over the world.

Now, it is time to think about the publication of the proceedings that will as usual constitute a selection of papers published in a special issue of Vegetation History and Archaeobotany.

In order to program the special IWGP issue we would appreciate if any person who plan to submit a paper could communicate the preliminary title of their contribution before August 31 st (to be sent to the conference address - iwgp2019lecce@unisalento.it - with a copy for Felix Bittmann).

The contributions should not exceed about 7000 words as we want to include as many articles as possible – it is planned to have an issue of about 200 pages at the end, review articles could be a bit longer. There is the possibility to add additional material, photographs, large tables, raw data, videos and any kind of digital material as electronic supporting material (ESM). So we recommend to take advantage of this possibility to keep the contributions short. Detailed information (Instructions for Authors) are available at the following link:

The deadline for submission is November 30 th , 2019, and the issue should be printed in January 2020 at the latest, could be earlier if all contributions submitted can be finished earlier.
